Looking to protect your cash and valuables? We take a look at the new Burton Home Safes from Safe Options
Whether we’re sharing tips on crime prevention or looking at the latest smart gadgets to protect your property, there’s no doubt that home security is one of the biggest topics that we cover here at the Property & Building Directory.
It’s hardly surprising – any of us who own or rent a home want to do whatever we can to keep intruders out; or, if the worst should happen and someone gets in, make sure our valuables are as secure as possible.
So, we were interested to hear from our friends at home security retailer Safe Options about a new range of home safes that combine premium quality with an accessible price.
Burton Home Safes
The Burton Home Safes range includes three different sizes of safe – 11, 21 and 34 litres – so you can choose the one that best meets the needs of you and your family.
The 11-litre Burton Home Safe Size 1E is £499 including VAT, while the larger 21-litre 2E is £621.60, and the biggest 34-litre 3E is £752.40.
We know that you would normally pay quite a steep price for safes of this quality, and Burton Home Safes have raised the bar somewhat by offering digital-only safes that are approved by the Association of Insurance Surveyors (AIS) and the police.
All three safes have an insurance rating of £6,000 in cash or £60,000 in valuables, and have been independently attack tested and certified by the European Certification Body (ECB), which has awarded the safes its EN1143-1 Grade 0 ECB-S certification.
In terms of their construction and performance, each of the safes in the range features:
- A double-walled steel body, filled with high-performance concrete and special armouring
- Three-way locking bolts, with special drill resistance
- A high-security electronic pin-code lock
- Back and base fixing, to ensure that your safe stays firmly bolted down or attached to the wall.
Apart from, obviously, their size and weight – with the 3E coming in at a hefty 118 kg, or 18 stone – the main difference between the three options is that the larger 3E includes height-adjustable shelving; in the two smaller sizes, the shelf is fixed.
To help you make the right choice, the Safe Options website includes full details of the specification of each safe.
